GitHub’s content delivery network (CDN) is incredibly fast. Unlike throttled file-hosting sites, downloading a 2MB "activator" from GitHub takes seconds.

Users assume that if code is on GitHub, it must be safe and transparent. However, GitHub hosts any code. Many "Adobe activator" repositories do not contain source code; they contain binary executable files ( .exe , .dmg ) wrapped in a README file.
